Leduc Community Living Association (LCLA) is a charitable organization which was started in 1986 by a group of parents who had sons or daughters with disabilities requiring support to live and work in their community, and to work toward their fullest potential. The Association was registered with the Societies Act and was incorporated in 1986. LCLA is governed by a Volunteer Board of Directors.

 

Mandate:
Leduc Community Living Association serves Persons with Developmental Disabilities in the City and County of Leduc and the Town of Devon.

 

Mission Statement:

“The Association’s philosophy is that all persons with disabilities have a right to remain in the community of their choice. Services and resources should be available to allow individuals to achieve their maximum potential for independence and to live with dignity in their community”.

 

Leduc Community Living Association supports approximately 15 adults and their families/guardians. The Association employs approximately 17 full and part time staff. Volunteers play an important role in all aspects of the organization, including participation on the Board and fundraising opportunities.

 

Leduc Community Living Association is assisted by many individuals, businesses and service groups. The success of Leduc Community Living Association is a direct result of successful partnerships with staff, volunteers, our community and all three levels of government.

 

Operating under the direction of a volunteer Board of Directors, LCLA’s activities are funded through government contracts, fees for service, fundraising, and donations.

 

In addition, Leduc Community Living Association is a member of the Alberta Council of Disability Services (ACDS).
